Old Oakland is constantly reinventing itself. This summer and fall have welcomed a number of new businesses, which are adding cultural wealth to our 9th/Washington neighborhood. District serves up yummy food and drinks next door in a comfortable yet sophisticated atmosphere. Though we miss B very much, we celebrate the opening of Borgo Italia across the street, serving authentic Italian fare. Try their exceptional pastries. All along 9th Street is popuphood, a collection of small businesses selling artisan goods, from local designer clothing to Japanese teapots. The premise of popuphood is to be a small-business incubator revitalizing neighborhoods block by block. Check it out next time you come in for a sandwich!
