Picnic weather! Grab a sandwich, cheeses, meats, crackers, chips, and drinks. Pack it up and enjoy this fabulous intro to summer with a visit to one of our gorgeous parks. We’re bringing along yesterday’s Farmer’s Market Peaches, too.

Alternately,  hang out with Oscar & taste a bunch of wonderful samples. Hide from the heat and settle in for some snacks & jazz piano with Mr. Michael Hauser.

We love our Fridays! The Farmer’s Market is from 8 to 2 every week, offering the most diverse selection of produce around, not to mention flowers and artisan goods. It brings the neighborhood to life and celebrates Oakland’s spirit. Every Friday afternoon, Ratto’s hosts live jazz and pop tunes from 3:30 to 5:30 with Michael Hauser on piano, sometimes joined by guest vocalists and instrumentalists.

Friday Flowers by the dozen, just across the street

Fridays are great enough… but it gets better. First Fridays host Oakland Art Murmur, enlivening Uptown, Downtown and Old Oakland with this hugely popular art walk. Galleries and artisan shops open their doors from 6-9 pm.

Join us for a fun-filled Friday!

My fall bounty: tomatillos, jujubes, & persimmons

Come visit us on Halloween, Wednesday October 31st from 10-3. Come in costume and receive an Italian sweet, while listening to Doctor Frankenhauser play creepy tunes on the piano.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaah…..

The Marcos Silva Group plays at Ratto’s Market & Deli in Oakland, CA on April 13, 2012. Marcos Silva: piano, Phil Thompson: drums, Scott Thompson: bass. The song is Brazilian People by Marcos Silva.
